Private Tuition
Private Tuition is our main trading activity. Whilst the majority of the fee goes to the tutor, five percent is deducted by Toranj Tuition. In a for-profit tutor agency, this would cover administrative costs. As we are a non-profit organisation, however, this money is spent charitably on our remaining children and young people projects.
Tutors deliver private tuition in a wide range of subjects, including core (i.e., English, mathematics and science), humanities, arts, music, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), and English as an Additional Language (EAL). We also offer exam revision sessions in these subjects. Unlike long-term tuition, exam revision is conducted on a short-term basis before exams begin.
Tuition can be delivered online, from Toranj Learning Centre or in a private home, depending on the client’s preference. It is available throughout the year, including during term-time and the school holidays. Sessions are scheduled at your convenience and can include as many tutees as requested.

Each additional tutee taught in the same session (at any level) adds £6.00 per hour to the total tuition cost. Depending on the location of your home, we may also request an additional fee to cover the tutor’s travel expenses. We will do our best, however, to place the tutee with a local tutor.
